"La grenya de Pascual
Picanya was composed after the opera Asdrúbila (...) Besides the
musical elements (voice and percussion), are back the piano as central
element of sexual fantasies, scenographic elements like the cobweb in which
the soprano is binded, flowerpots that create a forest of reeds.
But the main characteristic of this show is that the exhibition of the
different scenes becomes cruder in it. The sexual symbology, clearly displayed
in other works, is replaced by a nude exhibition of fantasy." (Josep
Ruvira)

"It is really
a lieder recital, with a pianist and a soprano, and all the things that
can happen around this combination. The idea of the pianist climbing on
top of the piano comes from the Fluxus group. But I use this idea in my
own way. I include it in my show, but not like an historic reference, a
found object or a tribute to a passed vanguard. It must be still possible
to say that one may play with his feet. After all, why not with the feet,
or the head?" (Carles Santos)
